Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure (Oriental Blue), a stylized compass rose Gules, over all four demi-arrows crosswise throughout heads to fess point Argent. Attached around and below the shield a black scroll inscribed "COLLECT, ANALYZE, DISSEMINATE" in silver.

Symbolism
Oriental blue and silver gray (silver) are the colors traditionally used by the Military Intelligence Corps. Red denotes valor and zeal and alludes to the 34th Division, called the "Red Bull Division", which the battalion supports. The compass rose pointing outward and the arrowheads coming in reflect the unit's motto and underscore the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information. The compass also highlights the worldwide scope of the intelligence mission.
